Put the Pledge of Allegiance back in schools, dang it! Think of it this way: Does it make sense to push kids through the public education system w/o the Pledge of Allegiance regardless of whether or not they exit that system with basic proficiency in critical things like mathematics, the written word and the spoken word... and then solicit them to enlist in the military as pretty much their ONLY way to eek a decent living out of the world... where they will then REALLY pledge their allegiance to the United States by potentially putting themselves in front of a bullet, in the range of a bomb, downwind from a chemical weapon, etc. in DEFENSE of the United States of America? No, it does NOT make sense. Argue if you want, but it makes no sense to not pay homage on a daily basis to the best country on Earth for so many people. This country may have its flaws, sure, but we really doubt that not having its youth grow up w/o an appreciation for the benefits this country has afforded them will do this nation any good.
